Andy has been with SBVH since July of 2024. She is currently attending college for her bachelors in legal studies in hopes to attend law school upon completion. She loves all the people and pets she has gotten the privilege to work with, and can’t wait to see you guys up front!
Emily has real passion for animal health. She recently graduated from Texas State University with her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science. She hopes to further her career in the animal sciences in the future. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time on the lake with friends and family, golfing, playing pickleball, and spoiling her own pup, Petey. Emily can’t wait to meet you and your fur baby!
Latoya has been with SBVH since 2024. She has years of experience in veterinary medicine. She has several cats and dogs of her own. She loves helping pets feel their best!
Lanie is one of our Customer Care Specialist and has been with Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital since April 2011. She comes to us with over 28 years’ front office experience working in the dental field. She enjoys getting to know our clients and their 4-legged family.
Lanie was raised in Denver Colorado and moved to Texas in 1993. She currently lives in Spring Branch with her husband, Lyle and their 4 dogs, Sir Lord Sydney, Noelani, a rescue from Hurricane Katrina, Indy and Frankie O Blue Eyes. They also have a cat named Kiki. Lanie and her husband enjoy traveling and fishing in their spare time.
Anne Marie joined the Spring Branch Veterinary team in January of 2021. She loves making sure our clients and their pets feel welcome and at home in the clinic. She resides in Blanco her 3 dogs, Pita, Edgar, and Francis; and her cat, Mr. Beastie. In her spare time she is an avid gardener and raises many varieties of succulents and cactus out in the hill country.
Jasmin joined SBVH in May of 2024. She has 5 previous years of veterinary experience. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute with an associates degree in veterinary technology. She loves spending time with family, friends, and going to concerts. She looks forward to meeting your fur babies.
Kenny has been a veterinary assistant with us since December of 2023. She is originally from Wyoming but has been in Texas since 2013. Kenny has 5 years experience as a veterinary assistant before starting with SBVH. She enjoys spending time with her mini Aussie, Reggie. She also enjoys playing the piano, time with friends, traveling, and baking. She has loved animals all her life and is very excited to meet your furry family member.
Paula moved to Texas from New Jersey and started with SBVH in July of 2023. She attended the Veterinary Technician Institute of Pittsburgh. She recently rescued her dog Sasha.
Casey was born and raised in Texas and joined the SBVH team in June 2023. She has over 7 years experience as a veterinary technician. She has 2 kids, 2 dogs Lady and Ranger. In her free time Casey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to helping your fur babies stay healthy and continue to grow her knowledge in the veterinary field.
Ashley joined the practice as a pet care attendant in March of 2017 and she was promoted to a veterinary assistant in May of 2017. Ashley was born and raised in Puerto Rico where she graduated with an associates degree in veterinary technology. She moved to the San Antonio area in 2014 and has been working in the veterinary field ever since. She has one schnauzer named Micahela. Ashley looks forward to meeting your furry family members!
Vanessa joined SBVH in November of 2018. She came to us with 13 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Vanessa started working in 2006 as a veterinary assistant and has worked her way up to a technician. She attended the veterinary technician program at Palo Alto College. She is married and has two sons and a daughter. She has a Pitbull named Cinco. Vanessa likes to spend her free time outdoors hiking and camping. She looks forward to helping your pets stay healthy.
Ashley joined the SBVH team in July of 2018. She was promoted to a veterinary assistant in July of 2019. She has loved animals her whole life. Ashley has lived in Spring Branch for 16 years. She loves spending her time caring for and loving pets. When she isn’t working Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband Wyatt and their pets, cat named Janis and 2 dogs Merlin, Shih Tzu Mix and Sammy a Pug Mix. She looks forward to caring for your furry family members!
Dr. Virginia Nell Duncan is a native of San Antonio. She has been a part of the practice since 2003. She wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She grew up pretending to doctor her family’s goats, horses, and peacocks. Dr. Virginia Nell graduated from Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She is married to Dr Robert Duncan and they have 4 boys, 1 dog, and 1 cat. The Duncan family often fosters dogs through SNIPSA, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats. Training these rescue foster dogs to help them get a forever home is something Dr. Duncan really enjoys. She also loves to go to Piedras Negras, Mexico with her family on missionary trips. They support some churches and orphanages there. In her free time she enjoys hiking, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Stephanie Horstmann is a San Antonio native. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2006 and she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Horstmann lives in New Braunfels with her husband, Dallas, and their two daughters, Addison and Savannah. They have a golden retriever named Marlin and a cat named Astro. Outside of work, Dr. Horstmann enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading and baking. Dr. Horstmann is a member of the AVMA, TVMA, and CCVMA. She is excited to provide quality care to pets and their owners close to home.
Dr. Chelsea Payne is a graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2018. As a new graduate, she accepted a position at a local nonprofit shelter, which gave her a variety of both surgical and medical experience. Dr. Payne joined Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital in May 2022. Dr. Payne is a member of the AVMA, TVMA and is Fear Free certified. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Travis and their 2 daughters. Their 4-legged family includes a Jack Russell Terrier mix named Bingo and a cat named Todd. Dr. Payne is excited to build relationships with clients and their pets, and is committed to offering the highest quality of medicine and surgery.
Dr. Megan Hughes joined the Spring Branch Veterinary team in July 2015 and she purchased the hospital in July 2016. Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. She received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Vermont in 2004 and she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2008.
Dr. Hughes moved to the San Antonio area in 2008. She currently lives in New Braunfels with her husband, Kris, and their daughter, Aubrey. Dr. Hughes has a Dog named Luna who is a rescued Great Pyrenees mix. She also has 3 cats, 6 horses, and 20 chickens. Dr. Hughes enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and her favorite hobby is horseback riding. Dr. Hughes as well as the entire team at Spring Branch Veterinary Hospital, is committed to providing nothing less than the gold standard of veterinary medicine to all of our patients. Her goal is for pets to live healthier, happier, and longer lives with their families. Dr Hughes is also Fear Free certified and a member of the AVMA.
